The DaizyLogik team developed our hosted web services to streamline the development process in order make it affordable for Salesforce clients to reliably display real-time Salesforce data to their constituents. Below we present information about some of the available alternatives.
G Connector from Chrome
Connect your Google Spreadsheet to Salesforce.com and exchange data with it both manually and automatically. G-Connector (formerly Enabler4Sheets) utilizes the Salesforce data loading functionality of the Microsoft Excel add-on (www.enabler4excel.com) in the Google Drive environment.
Volunteers for Salesforce
Volunteers for Salesforce is an open source software that provides tools for managing your organization’s volunteering program. You are able to track who your volunteers are and the hours they have worked, all of your volunteer jobs, both ongoing, and for a specific event, and shifts for specific jobs. The app also provides several Sites pages that you can host in your website to allow people to tell you they want to be a volunteer, or to actually signup for a specific job (and shift).
Note: Nonprofits using Volunteers for Salesforce (V4S) sometimes find that the volunteer jobs calendar and jobs listing that come with the package pose some styling challenges that make it hard to display this information in a way that matches the organization’s website look and feel. In addition, there is a need to ensure these widgets are responsive and look good on mobile devices. DaizyLogik developed a suite of data services that retrieve data from Salesforce and can post data to Volunteers for Salesforce to facilitate meeting these requirements. Organizations can work with their web developers to use these web services and populate the volunteer job calendar or list of volunteer jobs on their website and to build custom forms that allow volunteers to sign up for volunteer shifts. VisualForce + Force.com site + Field Sets
You can use Community Builder to build a Community and make it visible to the public. Within the Community, you can display any data you want.
Information about how to display record details in your Community can be found here.
FormAssembly with Prefill Connector
Using this tool, you can embed a form to have it prefill with data from Salesforce. It requires that you have FormAssembly Premier or Enterprise Plan. Details about the Prefill Connector can be found here.
DaizyLogik Hosted Web Services
DaizyLogik data services are REST web services developed and hosted on Heroku that extract data from Salesforce CRM and expose it to the world in JSON format. They can be used to display Salesforce data on your website.
Previously such web services were written in each customer’s Salesforce instance, and required custom code be copied and maintained in each Salesforce instance. By developing and hosting these services in Heroku, DaizyLogik has streamlined not only the development process, but is ensuring that any changes or enhancements to the services will be generally available to all subscribers.
More information about use cases for hosted web service can be found here.
